Prescott Campus Intramural and Recreational Sports

Intramural sports offer opportunities to develop the skills required for successful teamwork and shared responsibility that can aid your professional development in numerous areas.

Intramural Sports encourage friendships that last a lifetime. Participating in intramurals allows you to meet people that you might not otherwise.Participants will establish social contacts and friendships while playing on the same team with, or competing against, other students and staff. Participants also learn athletic skills that will improve quality of life long after college days have past.

All students, faculty and staff of the University and their immediate families are eligible and encouraged to participate in the intramural sports programs.

All students who participate in Intramural sports are strongly advised to obtain personal medical insurance. Group rates on medical insurance are available through the Health Services Department.

The victors of a dodgeball tournement show that they can make a human pyramid. Every semester dodgeball tournements pit teams from each hall against each other.Information about Intramurals is available by calling the Intramural Office (928) 777-3980 or visiting the Intramural Office which is located in the Activity Center, Building #83.

A schedule of events and other information is available during the New Student BBQ , Information Fair, and Activity Fair.

Upcoming events, sign-ups, important dates are also available by viewing the LED message boards in the Fitness Center and the Hangar.

Resident students can participate in both the Resident Hall Intramural Activities as well as the regular Intramural events open to all students.

Flashball is Embry-Riddle's version of flag football. Teams representing halls, clubs, or just a group of friends battle it out for the intramural title.Last year, there were over 1,400 participants in a variety of activities that made for an exciting Intramural year. During the Fall Semester there were fifteen teams playing “Flashball”, which is the ERAU version of flag football. The Spring Semester saw a record number of participants in the Basketball League with fifteen teams and the Indoor Soccer League with nineteen teams. A special thanks goes out to the fraternities and sororities for their continued support of Intramurals.

Dodgeball was a very popular activity during the Resident Hall Championships. The Village Complex’s “Manzanita” Hall # 7 won the Championship for the second time in the last three years. Their teams of “Hop Chi” and “Psi Eta Pi” lead the way throughout the year.

The annual wintertime plunge in the campus pool, also known as the Polar Bear Plunge. During this year's Plunge, the outside temperature at noon registered in the low 40s while the water temperature was a "comfortable" 39.The true cold-weather fanatics came out for the annual wintertime plunge in the campus pool, also known as the Polar Bear Plunge. Outlook for 2008

Students participate in an egg toss in one of the All-Campus BBQs. Campus wide activities give students and staff the chance to get in on the fun.The popular activities of Basketball, Flashball, Volleyball, and Indoor Soccer will continue to be the mainstay of the intramural program. Dodgeball looks to join this popular group. These sports have short two to three day tournaments as well as extended league play during the fall and spring semester.

Smaller tournaments for Racquetball, Tennis, Walleyball, Table Tennis, Sand Volleyball, and Bowling occur throughout the year as well.

The Resident Hall Championship Activities are open to only those students who live in the Residence Halls.

Annual campus-wide activities such as the All-Campus BBQ, Octoberwest, and the Spring Bon Fire have activities for all students and staff to participate in.
